IG25-43. Ravi Kathuria One with Soul

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Ravi Kathuria, on air from October 28th

Master Your Mind and Become One with Your Soul.
We each have the ability to quiet the mind and experience profound bliss.

Happy Soul. Hungry Mind. Is a modern parable that follows a grieving father and a wise colleague as they explore how to find peace amid life’s swirl of family, career, health, and community. Author Ravi Gopaldas Kathuria shows that spirituality isn’t reserved for the religious or the renunciant, it’s a practical inner capability available to everyone, regardless of belief. Through clear analogies (think fish asking, “Where’s the ocean?” while swimming in it), he offers simple, doable practices to quiet the insatiable mind and uncover a steadier, more meaningful life, one focused less about outcomes and more on wholehearted effort.

The book’s core takeaway is that spirituality doesn’t require belief in a higher power—it’s an inner capacity open to believers and atheists alike—and our restless, outcome-chasing minds are what keep us stuck. Peace grows when we shift from fixation on results to steady, present practice, using simple daily techniques—awareness, reflection, and compassionate action—to quiet the noise. In that stillness, purpose isn’t another want of the mind but a lived experience that emerges from within.

IG25-40 Margie Goldsmith on Becoming a Badass

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Margie Goldsmith, on air from October 7th

In her new memoir, Becoming a Badass: From Fearful to Fierce Margie is a testament to the adage “no one is going to make your life for you.”
Her story is one of adventure and resilience. It’s about living life on your terms and living it fearlessly. She speaks to anyone  looking to overcome a sense of powerlessness in any given situation, whether that’s a dysfunctional family, a marriage/relationship, or a career, and to anyone who has ever felt “less than.”

Coming from a family marked by deep struggles—her father’s suicide, incest, a sister battling schizophrenia, and parents coping with manic depression and alcoholism—her early life shaped much of who she became. After college, she moved to Paris, where she lived a glamorous life and married a blacklisted film director. Her passion for travel soon blossomed, leading her to become a travel writer who has explored 150 countries across seven continents, from Uganda, The Marquesas, South Korea, Laos, and Cambodia to Oman, Cuba, Tibet, Nepal, Borneo, Mauritius, Papua New Guinea, Easter Island, Croatia, Namibia, the Arctic, and Antarctica. The Outward Bound program also transformed her path, fueling her love of physical challenges: she has completed marathons and Olympic-distance triathlons, summited Mount Rainier, and climbed to Advanced Base Camp on The North Face of Mount Everest. Adding music to her many adventures, she learned to play the harmonica and even recorded two albums with America’s most award-winning blues band. Her resilience shines brightest in her survival of stage four pancreatic cancer and later, lung cancer—proving again and again her extraordinary strength and will to live fully.

IG25-34. R. Scott Holmes, Curated Healing

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest R.Scott Holmes, on air from August 26th

I have found that curiosity is second only to love in its ability to change and shape our lives. Whether it is as a toddler, a teenager or as an aging adult, maintaining curiosity to learn, change perspective, investigate rabbit holes or diving into our own inner space requires all of our senses. Seniors maintain their youth when stricken with curiosity. Teenagers find their place in the world as they grow into their bodies, their emotions and their self image.  My mission is to guide seekers along their journey of healing to find their soul mission.

Laila Woozeer, a mixed-race 28-year-old London-born writer and musician, shares a personal story of growing up in a rural white village in North Wales. Laila takes readers on a funny, vivid, and profoundly moving journey of discovering one’s own identity and belonging through her travels between Mauritius, the US and the UK, to make sense of the world and one’s place within it.
