P14/3a THE GUARDIAN CODE:

Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy with her guest Steve Shenk. Aired January 21/14

64315_506037012767152_995834023_nSteve Shenk was born in 1941 and grew up on a farm outside of Anoka, Minnesota. He pretty much goofed off through high school, however, managed to earn several awards as a bass-baritone soloist and was voted “most talented” in his high school graduating class. He went on to goof off for the first two years of his attendance at the University of Minnesota, evaluating 7 different declared majors before deciding he didn’t know what to do with his life. Steve then took a year off of school to get married and flounder around a little bit more, then decided to get serious about school, becoming highly incensed and motivated when, after declaring to his mother that he intended to get straight A’s for the rest of his schooling, to which she responded, saying, “It would be nice if you would get a B once in a while.” Having been thus insulted by his own matriarch, Steve did in fact go, as he puts it, “German,” (which means: “More is better, and if you can’t get it to work, get a bigger hammer”) getting straight A’s, graduating at the top of his class. He went on to complete an MBA, again at the top of his class. After having worked in several “corporate” positions, Steve went into sales work and proceeded to starve for a while until he figured out “how things worked” and eventually set some sales records that have not been broken (at least at this writing). In 1981, he got involved in the preparedness industry, and for 30+ years, has been a successful entrepreneurial innovator in marketing, packaging, and self-reliance in the storable food industry. His insights and understanding of the world and national food, agricultural, and economic issues has been the subject of talk show, interviews, and articles. There’s a quotation framed in Steve’s office from one of the many periods of starvation in his sales career, which states: “Necessity is the mother of invention. But terror is the father of true inspiration.” The lessons that Steve was forced to learn culminated in the principles described in the book, Guardian-Code-Cover-1 (3)THE GUARDIAN CODE: It’s Not Your Fault [And I Can Prove It]. The book is a life experience he felt impelled to share when he realized that, like every great truth, this Code contains secrets used in every achievement by everyone who has ever made a difference in the history of the world.

A frequent guest on talk shows, webinars, and speaking engagements, Steve feels that each of us instinctively longs to know how to take control of his or her life, not only to survive, but also to prosper, enjoy fulfilling relationships, and achieve all of our dreams in the process.

P14/2a Kronos Duet a journey into the past.

Originally Aired on January 14th on Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest Aldous Richards.

Having traveled Europe and the U.S.fallen in love with (and in) Paris and lived in Japan, Aldous now make his home in Ontario, Canada.

167676_479769426749_534851749_6361509_2008949_nI love cats as pets, and all animals as sentient creatures. I think this is why, when asked at around age nine the name of my greatest hero, I answered “St. Francis of Assisi.” Tarzan came a close second: I kid you not. (I also harbour a crush on a hybrid historical/fantasy Joan of Arc, but did not know that at age nine: It has never done me any good.)

I believe resolutely in the sanctity of fundamental human rights, kindness, and Nature in all its life forms. My great grandmother was Native American. That, and my Welsh birth and ancestry, I consider blessings.

341b1cf98c11fb1e55977cf12c4c05946c205debWhile writing Kronos Duet I was literally saved from penury and skid row by a generous writing grant from the Arts Council of Ontario (bless all who work for her!). I now work as a free-lance editor and full time author. I have published fiction, essays, short stories, and literary criticism.

My two Masters Degrees: in English Language and Literature, and in Library Science attest, if nothing else, to my self-discipline – and perhaps to a masochistic streak.

The novel, Kronos Duet, is a novel that explores science-fiction ideas, such as a dystopian future and time travel, and even the existence of God. Equally, it is a story about two characters, a father and daughter who team up in an odyssey through time, for personal reasons. The father, Gareth Pugh, is psychically freakish and eccentric, and wants to reach the beginning of time, and God, in order to fix his personal history. The daughter, Adrianna, stays with him through thick and thin because she needs, above all, to know a sense of home and family – and her family has been fundamentally dysfunctional. These personal desires drive them both through a suspenseful, frightening and dangerous quest, in which they are pursued by murderous government agents given the mission to kill them, or get them stranded in time-space, never to return to their own time.

Here is a sneak preview of the 9 Proven Steps to Making Your Next Bold Move!

1.      Check Your inner State

First and foremost, check your inner state. You need to be able to recognize what is calling you forward before you can listen to it and determine the appropriate action. Ask your heart to finish the following sentences:

“I feel _____ about my life right now.” (Happy, satisfied, out of sorts, confused, etc.)

“The area of my life that I want to be different is______.”

Try journaling about the experience that is causing your dissatisfaction. Awaken the voice inside you that is trying to get out.

2.      Give yourself a Time Out

Slow down. It is critically important to allow your heart and your mind a quiet opportunity to speak to each other. One of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself is a few moments of guilt-free peace.  Our brains sort through our greatest life challenges when we are at rest or play, so give your mind a vacation; it will serve you up tremendous information and inspiration to take action on. Sleep, nap, meditate, retreat, walk, rest and listen to your inner voice. We can’t create, manifest or be inspired when we are so busy being busy.

3.      Listen up! to Your Intuition

Hear, sense, feel your inner desires. We source our most inner desires from our inner guidance. Once your inner voice is awake and you have allowed yourself a quiet moment to hear her, it’s time to listen. What idea keeps floating around in your mind? Is there something that you feel in your gut over and over again? This is your intuition trying to tell you something. Recognizing the interference of your intuition takes practice. Test and evaluate the results of your intuition without fear of right and wrong. Just listen and see what happens.

4.      Prepare for the Game

Preparing for the game means taking great care of your body, mind and spirit. Like an Olympic athlete, preparing yourself to play the game physically, emotionally and spiritually are also critical to the results you will create. A body overstressed and overworked won’t be likely to create anything except burnout and chaos! Physically, it is important to honour your body and provide it with the fuel to keep you moving. Preparing your mind for the game consists of learning and growth with regard to your passion. Knowledge also provides confidence for your journey. Preparing your spirit involves anything that brings you peace: meditation, a good book, a walk in the woods, etc. Care and well-being of your body, mind and spirit is a must.  Exercise, nutrition, spiritual practices, and extreme self-care inside and out is critical to be ready to take on our next bold move.

5.      Get clear about What you Want

What do you care most about? Learning to listen deeply and trust your inner guidance is paramount in getting crystal clear about what your true desires are. To turn an idea into reality, you must be clear about what you really want- really, really clear about what you want.

6.      Surround yourself with Extreme Support

Surround yourself with those people you want close to you through this process… those who truly support your needs and goals. Women are often better at supporting others than allowing others to support us. Get comfortable asking for support and surrounding yourself with cheerleaders versus people that need constant care and tending.

7.      Gather in Purposeful Community

Along with extreme supporters, you will also need to gather a purposeful community- collecting a group of like-minded people who will be there to encourage you and share with you the same focus, passion or vision. The group of people could be essential to moving you forward and supporting you in a way that personal supporters cannot.

8.      Generate Steam

Now comes the fun part; it’s time to generate some STEAM! STEAM is an acronym for an active process of action, execution, and momentum that will propel you forward and turn your vision into a reality- Step into action, Tweak what’s not working, Execute and experiment, Act again, and Measure your results each step along the way.

9.      Dance and Weave

The final step to achieving your next bold move is to dance through the steps easily and weave your masculine and feminine energy together so that your journey is fun and fulfilling. Combine the needs and desires of your mind and your heart. Be both creative and logical, linear and imaginative and balance internal quietness and external action.  Source from your heart and execute from your head.

There comes a time in everyone’s life where it is time to be bolder and bring yourself forth in ways that you have never dared before.  Come join me on this journey into boldness.  You’ll be glad SO you did!
