Mental Health Awareness with Sara Troy and her guest Jamie Taylor, on air from December 9th
I have struggled with mental health my whole life. I know what it feels like to feel that there is no other way out but ending your life. I know what it feels like to lie in bed with your whole body aching because you are so sad and lost. I know what it feels like to be embarrassed, hide behind humour, hide behind a smile and then go home and cry. I know what it feels like to feel alone. If it wasn’t for the love I had for my mom and my sister at the time, I don’t know if I would still be here. Then I had children, so my why to keep going grew bigger.
I can see and feel peoples sadness. When someone hurts, I hurt. A stranger, a friend, a family member, it doesn’t matter. I have always been this way. I know how it feels to be in that place, and I know what it feels like to work your way out of it. Just wait, one more day…..If I can help one person in recognizing, their worth, it’s worth it to me.

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from December 9th
This Christmas, I’m continuing my tradition of giving gifts that go beyond the season. Inspired by the brilliant authors I’ve recently had the joy to interview, I’ve gathered another collection of books that offer something deeper than a quick read. These stories and insights become companions—lifting us, challenging us, and opening new doors within.
Books have a magical way of staying with us. A powerful memoir reminds us we’re not alone. A captivating novel transports us to places we never knew we needed. A wellness or self-growth book becomes a guidepost when life asks us to rise. Each one holds the potential to spark curiosity, healing, and courage—page by page.
This isn’t just a gift guide; it’s a pathway to meaningful giving. Every book here is chosen because it can brighten a life far beyond the holidays—shared between friends, explored in quiet moments, or treasured for years to come.
So as you celebrate and gather, consider wrapping up a journey, a revelation, a moment of wonder. Give a gift that lasts—one that keeps unfolding long after the ribbon falls away.
Afterlife – A Journey to: Now You Know What Will Happen by Stephan Chong
Stephen Chong M.Ed. is a Far North Queensland, Australian-based author who draws his inspirations from life’s themes that relate to us all – love, grief, struggle, overcoming obstacles. Culminating in his six inspirational novels, feature-film screenplays, and multiple short-stories, he has converted these ‘life themes’ into stories that we can all relate to.
Ravi Kathuria’s mission is to awaken the world to the simple, practical truth of spirituality—non-religious, always accessible, and woven into who we are. A respected speaker and business thought-leader featured in outlets like Forbes and The Wall Street Journal, he is the founder of the Houston Strategy Forum and executive coaching firm Cohegic. His leadership book How Cohesive Is Your Company? and his spiritual parable Happy Soul. Hungry Mind. offer transformative insight into living with greater clarity, purpose, and connection.
The remarkable true story of Margie Goldsmith—a woman who refused to let fear, hardship, or illness define her. From escaping a troubled childhood and living a glamorous life in Paris, to building a thriving career and reinventing herself again and again, Margie shows what it means to live boldly. Even after facing pancreatic and lung cancer, she kept traveling, writing, and daring herself into new adventures—like performing blues harmonica on stage. Her journey is a powerful reminder that you are never “less than,” and it’s never too late to rewrite your life.
Scott began walking in the holistic healing world when his wife of 39 years died after a 20-year battle with breast cancer. After years of caregiving for his daughter and wife, the world of coaching, healing, and energy opened. His soul journey has been to help heal others through one-on-one sessions, teaching, and volunteering with a local hospice. He is a best-selling Amazon author in ten collaborations and is currently engaged in interviewing 200 men for the book, “When Did You Become a Man?”
Dr. Enolia Harris Pedro is a respected Grandmother, Elder, and Doctor, a Modern Day Medicine Woman in Energy Medicine, practicing in Africa. With decades of experience, she uses a holistic approach to guide individuals toward balanced health, integrating ancient traditions into modern wellness practices. “I wrote The Gate In Between for the seekers, like I once was. For those who find what they were looking for… only to lose it again. The Gate In Between is not a destination. It’s an invitation. To pause. To look deeper. And to finally remember what keeps slipping away — your Self.”
Each chapter opens with a story, drawn from my own life, and represents a symbolic gate. These gates explore themes we all move through: identity, perception, time, connection, and the space between what was and what might be.
With personal insights and a lot of humor, Jerry talks about why we do what we do and how it’s sabotaging our relationships and ourselves. Jerry has put his 7-word philosophy into practice by interviewing over 200 people from the ages of thirteen to ninety-four.
I wrote Forget the Fairy Tale and Find Your Happiness because I lived it, and I know I’m not alone. Too many women believe society’s script that says happiness depends on finding Prince Charming and checking all the boxes. I believed that, too, in the beginning. My journey of self-discovery began with a bold choice to rewrite the story I’d been given. From Midwest housewife to global marketing exec to professor and author, I’ve learned that happily ever after isn’t handed to you—it’s built, one brave decision at a time.
That journey led to my signature class, The Blueprint to Sustaining Relevancy, Vitality, and Longevity. I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only woman asking these questions. And this isn’t just about bouncing back, it’s about rising even higher.
For a long time, that’s what successful businesswoman Brenda Coffee told herself whenever she dared to look back on her twenties and thirties. In Maya Blue: A Memoir of Survival, She Brenda opens up about the life she once lived—and all the secrecy, madness, trauma, abuse, and danger that came with it.
Nick Marshall, New York City-based writer, actor, director, producer and author of the new book, Try Again: An Ex-Con’s Path from Prison to Prosperity. This is about the struggle, hope (both loss of and holding on to), grit and perseverance. It’s a story about working hard and trying again, even when we feel the odds are stacked against us — and about the desire to be a person of humility and integrity.
THE WILD WHY affirms a universal truth – as Laura Munson attests: “We’re all creative! Every act of living is creative. Every step we take, every choice we make, every word that comes out of our mouth—it’s all an act of creation!” What could be more wonderful than that?
Sunshower Rose, a professional artist since the early 1980s, is best known for designing the City of Sedona, Arizona logo in 1988. Specializing in watercolor, she later incorporated digital techniques using Photoshop. A respected art tutor in Verde Valley, Arizona, she has also performed in art concerts, comedy, and mime.
There are moments in history when the world shifts—not in small, incremental ways, but in seismic, irreversible transformations. To navigate such times wisely, it is imperative that we learn to recognize where we stand in the arc of history.
I contributed a chapter to this empowering collection on living boldly, facing life head-on, and saying “yes” to yourself. It’s a beautiful gift for anyone ready to step into courage and rewrite their story.
I Didn’t Become Selfish, I Became Harder to Manipulate
(Or “I’m Not Selfish, I’m Just Not Easily Manipulated” – Anthology Chapter)
In this anthology, my chapter speaks to reclaiming your boundaries, your voice, and your worth. It’s for those who are tired of being guilt-tripped or controlled and are ready to stand tall without apology.
Mission Accepted – 262 Women’s Stories
A powerhouse collection featuring 262 women who said “mission accepted” to their calling. My contribution sits alongside other women’s journeys of resilience, purpose, business, and service. A wonderful gift for entrepreneurs, changemakers, and any woman standing at a crossroads.
Our Forgotten Children – Anthology
This anthology, which I helped bring forward, focuses on how we raise and truly see our children—shedding light on where society fails them and what we must do differently. It’s both a wake-up call and a blueprint for a more compassionate future for our kids.
Sara’s Discovery: Self-Discovery into Wisdom
My own book, Sara’s Discovery, traces my journey from struggle to self-discovery and into wisdom. It’s part memoir, part reflection, part invitation for you to step into your own knowingness and live from your heart, soul, and inner truth.

When two guests had to cancel their shows due to family emergencies, I felt called to fill the space with something that has been medicine for my own spirit: the cinematic AI art and music of Kelly Boesch. Her work weaves human performers, exquisite styling, and generative AI into dreamlike visual poems that take you beyond the limits of the physical world and into a realm where imagination, soul, and sound move as one. For me, her videos are a form of meditation. The music soothes my nervous system, lifts my spirit, and quiets my mind, while the imagery awakens that childlike sense of wonder and reminds me that we are so much more than our human limitations.
In this episode, I talk about traveling beyond the white walls of our lives—how music, art, nature, breath, and imagination can help us step out of the weight of the body and into the spaciousness of our own divine essence. I share how darkness is not our enemy when we remember that we are the light in it, and how practices like music, movement, creativity, or simple stillness can bring us back home to the core of our being—where peace, love, and wisdom reside. Music, especially, is frequency that can reset our equilibrium, help us transcend the noise of daily life, and reconnect us to that “out of body, in spirit” place.
This show is an invitation: explore Kelly’s AI art and notice where it takes you, and then ask yourself, What does that for me? What sound, image, practice, or place transports you into your center, into that timeless, spacious, loving field within? Because when you find your own “music”—whatever form it takes—you find your doorway back home to peace.

Your Health is Your Choice with Sara Troy and her guest Kimberly Jackson, on air November 18th
At Crossroads Pregnancy Centre, the heart of our story is our unwavering commitment to women and families in Nanaimo. We exist to fill a critical gap in the system by offering free, confidential, and compassionate support during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. In a world that often presents complex challenges around pregnancy, our “Pro-Grace” approach ensures every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to make informed decisions. We’re here because every woman deserves to navigate her unique journey—whether facing an unexpected pregnancy, experiencing the profound grief of loss, or entering early parenthood—with comprehensive emotional and practical support, fostering resilience and hope in our community.
My career journey began in the medical field, driven by a deep desire to help people, particularly from a supportive, administrative perspective. I thrived behind the scenes, ensuring the teams who worked face-to-face with patients had everything they needed. During that decade, raising two children shifted my focus. I sought a career that allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the community while offering the flexibility to be more present for my family. This led me from the corporate medical world to the non-profit sector. In 2023, I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Vancouver Island, an organization that beautifully prioritizes families—both those they serve and their staff. This role allowed me the freedom to integrate my work schedule with my family’s needs, creating a powerful motivation to excel in a role that serves the greater good. In 2025, the board of Crossroads Pregnancy Centre approached me with the Executive Director opportunity. This felt like the perfect, rooted next step, allowing me to fully dedicate my passion to an organization that profoundly impacts the well-being of women and their families. It’s an honor to lead CPC, filling a massive systemic gap, and I am incredibly excited for this new chapter.
