23-27. Presenting Our Business

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from July 4th

When it comes to presenting your business, it’s important to be adaptable and adjust your approach based on the context, audience, and purpose of your conversation. While your authentic self, remain constant, the way you speak about your business can vary. You are the heart of your business. Introduce yourself as “I am [Your Name],” and share what you do or have to offer. Let your individuality shine in every introduction.

Presenting an elevator /intro pitch effectively involves delivering a concise and compelling message about yourself or your business in a short amount of time. Here are some tips to help you present your elevator pitch:

  1. Start with a hook: Begin your pitch with a captivating opening line that grabs the listener’s attention and sparks their interest.
  2. Clearly state your purpose: Clearly and succinctly communicate what you or your business does and the problem you solve or the value you offer. Do not overload just capsulize.
  3. Highlight your unique selling proposition: Emphasize what sets you or your business apart from others in your field. Focus on your unique strengths, expertise, or competitive advantage.
  4. Tailor it to your audience: Adapt your pitch based on who you’re speaking to and their needs or interests. Customize your message to resonate with their specific challenges or goals.
  5. Keep it concise: Stick to the essentials and avoid using jargon or technical terms that may confuse the listener. Aim to deliver your pitch within 30 to 60 seconds.
  6. Practice and refine: Rehearse your pitch until it flows naturally and sounds confident. Seek feedback from others and make adjustments as needed. Remember know it to become it, but do not sound robotic.

Remember, the goal of an elevator pitch is to spark curiosity and create a memorable impression. Be genuine, passionate, and focused on how you can add value to the listener’s life or business.

When engaging with the general public, it’s beneficial to adopt a more approachable and relatable tone. Share stories, personal experiences, and the positive impact your business has had on individuals. Invite them to explore your offerings, highlighting the benefits they can experience and the value they can gain from engaging with your business.

Remember, being prepared with a well-crafted introduction is advantageous, but avoid using a one-size-fits-all approach. Adapt your messaging to the situation, the person you’re speaking with, and the goals of the conversation. By doing so, you can connect with individuals on a deeper level, build trust, and create meaningful relationships that align with your business objectives.

How do I Sara present my business and do I adjust it to whom I am speaking with? You are always going to get me, Sara, from the heart, but what way I am speaking to my business may change accordioning to where, whom, and why I am speaking of it.

You do not know whom you are going to meet where or when, so being ready with am intro when needed is good to have, but, do not make it one size fits all.

Whether the individuals you are interacting with are business people or the general public, it’s essential to tailor your communication style to resonate with your audience. Here’s an example of a business intro followed by an invitational tone:

I. Example. Hi, I’m Sara Troy, and through my podcast network, I have the privilege of interviewing individuals who are making a positive difference in the lives of others. 6. Why are you doing books? I truly believe in the power of books as a medium for sharing knowledge, inspiration, and support. While the Self Discovery Wisdom podcasts offer a wealth of wisdom and insights, I wanted to expand our reach and impact by creating a collaborative book.

Books have a unique ability to capture and distill wisdom in a cohesive and tangible form. They provide a platform for authors to delve deeper into their topics, offering comprehensive insights and practical solutions. By bringing together a diverse group of authors in the “Our Forgotten Children” series, we can amplify our collective voice and address important issues surrounding children’s well-being and education.

Publishing this book before Christmas allows us to reach a broader audience during a time when people are seeking meaningful gifts and reflective reading. By combining the power of written words with the holiday spirit, we aim to touch hearts, inspire action, and raise awareness about the challenges children face.

Moreover, the collaborative nature of this book provides an opportunity for authors to support and uplift one another. It’s a platform where they can share their expertise, promote their organizations, and create a network of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to making a positive difference in children’s lives.

By embarking on this book project, we hope to ignite a spark of curiosity, compassion, and action in our readers. Our aim is to educate, inspire, and empower individuals to join us in creating a brighter future for our forgotten children. Together, through the written word, we can make a lasting impact and bring about positive change.

Join me in embracing the beauty of self-discovery and exploring the limitless horizons that await us.”

Always speak from your heart and passion for what you are doing. Let it flow, do not read it, but have bullet points to keep you on track. Be engaging, be invitational, be inspiring, share your story of why your message needs to be heard, never pushy of condemning, but always solutional and hopeful; you want them to know enough that they want to know more.

8. You are speaking to a diverse audience, how do address everyone?

As a True Colours coach, where we delve into the fascinating world of personality traits and individual uniqueness. 9. When presenting in a meeting, it’s important to strike a balance between being prepared and confident while also maintaining an inviting and relatable demeanor. Here are some tips to present without overpowering:

  1. Be organized and prepared: Come to the meeting with a clear understanding of your topic and objectives. Anticipate potential questions or concerns and have relevant information ready. This preparation will give you a solid foundation and boost your confidence.
  2. Maintain a calm and composed demeanor: Take a deep breath and center yourself before the meeting. Keep your body language open and relaxed. Speaking in a calm and measured tone can help create a welcoming atmosphere and put others at ease.
  3. Show genuine enthusiasm and conviction: Present your ideas with passion and conviction. Share your expertise and insights, and let your enthusiasm shine through. Authenticity and genuine belief in what you’re presenting will resonate with others and make your message more compelling.
  4. Be attentive and inclusive: Pay attention to others in the meeting and actively listen to their contributions. Encourage participation and create an inviting atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts. Acknowledge different perspectives and be open to collaboration and constructive feedback.
  5. Use inclusive language: Choose your words carefully to create an inclusive environment. Use “we” instead of “I” to emphasize collaboration. Invite input and opinions from others, fostering a sense of teamwork and shared ownership of ideas.
  6. Be yourself and relate to others: Let your true personality shine through in your presentation. Authenticity builds trust and connection. Share personal anecdotes or examples to illustrate your points and make your presentation relatable.
  7. Provide an invitation for further discussion: At the end of your presentation, encourage questions, comments, and open dialogue. Express your willingness to engage with others and continue the conversation beyond the meeting. This invitation creates an atmosphere of collaboration and fosters ongoing relationships.

Remember, the goal is not to overpower or dominate the meeting but to engage and connect with your audience. By presenting from the heart, with conviction and an inviting approach, you create a positive and inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and productive discussions.

10. In summary, when presenting in a meeting, the key is to create a genuine connection with your audience. You want people to feel drawn to you, curious to learn more about what you do, and comfortable in establishing a relationship with you. Remember, you are not just promoting your products or services; you are representing yourself as a trustworthy and relatable individual.

By being well-prepared, calm, and invitational, you demonstrate professionalism while maintaining an approachable demeanor. Presenting from the heart and with conviction allows your passion and authenticity to shine through, making you more relatable and trustworthy.

Active listening, inclusive language, and inviting others to participate create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. By relating to others and sharing personal experiences, you can establish a connection based on shared understanding.

Ultimately, people need to feel a connection with you before they are willing to engage in a business, friendship, or client relationship. By conveying your authenticity, inviting others to join the conversation, and building trust through your presentation, you can leave a lasting impression that motivates others to connect with you on a deeper level.

YOU ARE YOUR BUSINESS ALWAYS REMEBER THAT.
