Just 2 Choices has its roots in both aviation and art—two of Rico’s favourite subjects as a kid. Fast-forward in life, as a pilot first for the US Air Force and now for a US major airline, Rico has applied aviation’s step-by-step processes, analytical skills and logic, as well as applied art’s visual layouts to left the Just 2 Choices materials, to make learning key information faster so people can say “I get it!” and quickly and immediately apply it to improving the quality of their lives—beginning right here, right now—with their very next choice! Prior to writing Just 2 Choices, Rico has used his aviation and art background to write and publish three “visual guidebooks” for young people on positive choice and goal setting (elementary school, middle school, and high school).

Enjoying both art and aviation, originally Rico Racosky planned to attend college to study commercial art, but made a last-minute switch to aviation. While still pursuing flying, he continued his interest in the graphic arts by writing, designing, and publishing three fully illustrated, visual guidebooks for youth on setting and achieving goals: Go Vertical! Life Has No Ceiling; dreams + action = Reality®; and d+a=R™ (see “4 kids” tab). In addition, Rico’s spent more than 20 years speaking in schools and youth programs around the USA, sharing the dreams + action = Reality philosophy that “Not one of us knows what great things we can achieve until we ricoracosky-violetshirt take positive action to find out for ourselves.” Growing up in Johnstown, PA, Rico received his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science) from the United States Air Force Academy and graduate degree (Masters of Science in Management) from the University of Southern California.

Rico’s professional pilot experiences span a variety of aircraft—from fighters (F-16 and A-7) to transports (C-141 and Boeing 737) to sea planes, gliders, and light air-planes. Formerly a pilot and flight instructor for the US Air Force, Rico is currently flying the Boeing 737 as a Captain for Southwest Airlines. In addition, his aviation experience includes working as a supervisor of aircraft maintenance.

Elizabeth Dankoski created The Dream School Project to help young people stand out and overcome the high-stress stakes of college admissions so they can increase their chances of acceptance at their top choice schools — and to empower them to build the life of their dreams. Her program is based on her 15 years of experience as an “educational catalyst” helping hundreds of students get into their top-choice schools.

Elizabeth discovered the reason some were accepted to the school were put on waiting lists and ended up settling for institutions that were not their first choice. * A girl planning a 5K run to benefit epilepsy research in honour of her sister who is battling the disorder.

* An eighth-grader who loves hockey and conducting research, petitioning his town and raising money to build an ice-skating rink

* A boy whose family immigrated from India who is creating a website to raise awareness and funding for an orphanage there

* A student who wants to be a K-Pop star challenging herself to take her singing and dancing to the next level

“When our kids show what they care about most when they use their passion when they follow the path that lights them up — colleges will come running,” she says. “That’s what leadership really is: lighting other people up and illuminating the world with your unique gifts.”

My approach to life is nothing really new. It’s been part of Zen and Advaita (non duality) for thousands of years. Yet in this present moment it is all entirely new. Mostly it’s simply allowing life to be life exactly as it is and the exquisite beauty, gratitude and love that come from doing this simple and rather obvious thing. The problem is our heavily conditioned thoughts have become so removed from reality that we no longer perceive it as it is. Most of us live in a “thought-world” not the world as it is, which is far more wonderful than any thought could ever imagine.
