America Reunited: A Relational Solution to Bridging the Political, Social and Personal Chasm Dividing our Nation. This is the most important book I have ever written given the difficulties of your current time
Arthur P. Ciaramicoli, Ed.D., Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been treating clients for more than 35 years. He is currently in private practice, while also developing courses and podcasts for an educational company in China based on his recent books The Power of Empathy, The Soulful Leader and The Triumph of Diversity.
Dr. Ciaramicoli is on the faculty of The International Association of Wellness Practitioners and is a Global Presence Ambassador, Parenting 2.0. He has been on the faculty of Harvard Medical School for several years, lecturer for the American Cancer Society, Chief Psychologist at MetroWest Medical Center, and director of the MetroWest Counseling Center and of the Alternative Medicine division of MetroWest Wellness Center in Framingham, Massachusetts. He was previously the Chief Medical Officer of Soundmindz.org a popular mental health site.
Dr. Ciaramicoli has spent his entire career helping people reduce their prejudices toward themselves and others while increasing their understanding of the enormous benefits of diversity and the transformative power of empathic interpersonal relationships.
He believes every human being has the capacity to grow and uncover the goodness that lies within each spiritual being. Teasing out the hidden potential of others by uncovering the false ideas many of us carry into adulthood about ourselves and others is the prime focus of his personal self-help book on diversity. He explains in detail how the interconnections of humankind allow those of different religions, different political persuasions and different cultures to discover the commonalities among us that allow us to thrive in union, rather than continue in our current societal climate that fosters group thinks, divisiveness and hatred.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Ciaramicoli has lectured at Harvard Health Services, Boston College Counseling Center, the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, The Revelry Group as well as being a consultant to several major corporations in the Boston area.
He has appeared on CNN, CNNfn, Fox News Boston, Comcast TV, New England Cable News, Good Morning America, The O’Reilly Report, and other shows. He has been a weekly radio guest on Your Healthy Family on Sirius Satellite Radio and Holistic Health Today, and has been interviewed on The People’s Pharmacy, The Gary Null Show, and more than two dozen other radio programs airing on NPR, XM Radio, and numerous AM and FM stations.
Dr. Ciaramicoli is the author of The Triumph of Diversity: Rejoice In and Benefit from the Interconnectedness of Human Kind (Open Books, 2020), The Soulful Leader: Success with Authenticity, Integrity and Empathy (Open Books, 2019),The Stress Solution: How Using Empathy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy decreases Anxiety and increases Resilience (New World Library, 2016), The Curse of the Capable: The Hidden Challenges to a Balanced, Healthy, High Achieving Life (Wiley, 2010), Performance Addiction: The Dangerous New Syndrome and How to Stop It from Ruining Your Life (Wiley 2004) and The Power of Empathy: A Practical Guide to Creating Intimacy, Self-Understanding, and Lasting Love (Dutton 2000), which is now published in 7 languages. His first book, Treatment of Abuse and Addiction, A Holistic Approach (Jason Aronson, 1997) was selected as Book of the Month by The Psychotherapy Book News. He is also the coauthor of Beyond the Influence: Understanding and Defeating Alcoholism (Bantam 2000).
Dr. Ciaramicoli lives in a suburb of Boston with his wife of 40 years. He is a devout Peloton rider, exercise enthusiast and advocate for plant-based eating. He has always viewed self-care and the capacity for empathy as the keys to personal and professional success. He is a student of the major religions, always trying to increase his understanding of in-depth spiritual awakening. His greatest joy is spending summer days in Southern Maine with his wife, daughter’s, son-in-law’s and beautiful grandchildren Ariana and Carmela.

Our mindset will dictate our thoughts, and if we are willing to change them to a kinder and more loving mindset, we can change into the Joy of Living. On this show, I have brought together two dynamo women who live in the exuberance of life, because they choose to. They have both had many ups and downs and know what it is like to struggle, but have chosen to seek out the JOY instead.
LaChelle Adkins a mother of 15 known as America’s Super Mum, says,
1. Awareness of where you are so you can determine the path that you choose to follow.
2. Do the daily work to maintain the joy you desire because it requires action – not just talk.
3. Be mindful of the people and environment that you surround yourself with.
You have the power, my dear, you always have, it was right within you. Many of us think that life is happening to us, but the truth of the matter is life is happening for us. When you start to look at life like something that is for you, that failure is to help you grow, and that success is the byproduct of your very actions, you begin to look at life differently. Joy is a state of mind and can be seen easily and effortlessly through gratitude. Joy is a whole mood and can be seen when you stop taking life as this serious situation and start to take life as the fun roller coaster ride you don’t want to get off. Basically, Joy is within your mindset.
Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Shelley Brown, on air from June 15th
Elon Musk, Lady Gaga, Andy Warhol, Sir Richard Branson have all been described as “weird”, but that’s exactly what propelled them to their success. Our “weird” doesn’t know it’s weird until it’s judged by others. And when that happens, many of us spend years, even decades wearing that judgment every day like an itchy wool sweater. What happens if we shift our thinking and begin embracing our weirdness? Shelley will invite your audience to allow their own “weird” and join what she affectionately calls the “the collective weirdness of humaning”. She will offer advice on:
How people can allow their “weird” in a way that generates personal and professional growth.
How to mitigate the “bullshould,” the space between where we are and where we think we should be.
Five ways organizations can benefit from embracing inclusivity through individuality and weirdness.
Shelley Brown is a speaker, mindfulness educator, mentor, artist and author best known as the creator of Weird Girl, a series of humorous essays written about real life experiences. Born and raised in Chicago, she graduated from DePaul University and served over 25 years in corporate America.
In 2014, Brown faced her greatest challenge when she suffered a serious spinal injury. After a lifetime of fitness that included 25 marathons, six ultra-marathons, and countless half-marathons, she found herself living with impaired mobility and chronic pain. Now living life with gratitude and joy, Brown provides organizations with keynote talks and customized mindfulness seminars aimed at humanizing work cultures, cultivating self-aware leaders, and of course, allowing our “weird.”
Weird Girl Adventures from A-Z is a funny, zany collection of life experiences as told through the eyes of Weird Girl, the alter ego of brilliant writer Shelley Brown, as she navigates her way through angsting, loving, and real life experiences along with her 45-year old sock monkey, her boyfriend who happens to be her dog, and a really nice guy who comes home after work and really doesn’t get Weird Girl, but loves her anyway.
