A HIGHLY CANDID AND INTIMATE MEMOIR OF INVESTIGATION INTO DEVASTATING DISEASES LIKE CANCER AND ALZHEIMER’S.

Cancer such a common word and disease these days and Alzheimer’s there is not much known about it, so how do you prepare and what tools do you need to take action in healing and empowering your health? Your health is your responsibility and the more you know and do, the longer you live and healthier you will be.

There are two different paths of aging–and you can choose which one you take. Accountability or Neglect of Your Health?

A dynamic fusion of story and science, “Not Going Gently” offers a fresh look at Alzheimer’s and dementia from both personal and professional vantage points–and provides a plan for prevention. In this poignant mother-daughter memoir,  Constance L. Vincent, tablets you, shares her mother’s experience and feelings living with Alzheimer’s as well as her own perspective both as a psychologist and a potential victim of the disease.

Most books about Alzheimer’s focus on only one aspect of the disease from either a scientific or personal perspective. Not Going Gently expertly melds the two into an all-inclusive portrait of the disease. Dr. Vincent describes her own age-related memory changes and compares them to Alzheimer’s–the warning signs, myths, risks, diagnosis, and stages of the disease.  While she honestly addresses this devastating illness that affects millions of people and their loved ones, she also offers hope through groundbreaking discoveries in science. Dr. Vincent includes specific advice on the newest ideas in nutrition, lifestyle, and building a cognitive reserve that she is following to prevent Alzheimer’s and gives suggestions for more enlightened treatment.

Mimisparty070copyConstance L. Vincent earned a Ph.D. at UC Irvine and taught classes in developmental psychology, especially psychology of aging, at two different universities. In addition to her book Not Going Gently about Alzheimer’s disease, she has edited the long-awaited Dr. Tom Wu’s Different Approach in Natural Healing: Conquer Cancer and Other Diseases with Simple Foods. Her husband got his life back because of Dr. Wu’s approach to food and lifestyle.

As the daughter of a father who suffered from dementia before he died and a mother who has Alzheimer’s disease, I likely have a genetic risk for these diseases. Although my role as a long-distance caregiver for my mother was limited, I devoured the research about dementia and Alzheimer’s disease in order to learn the best diet, the best supplements, and the best activities that would help my mother, who was already showing signs of mild cognitive impairment. I wanted to fight back to save her from slipping into Alzheimer’s.

PPNativeCover4795834_FrontCover300wUnfortunately, I learned that the time to prevent dementia is now, while our brains are healthy and early prevention is still effective. Clearly, we have no time to waste. If I was too late to save my mother from Alzheimer’s, I still had time to use what I learned for myself. I’ll share the steps I’m taking now to fight against Alzheimer’s disease. I hope you’ll join me. Like my mother, I am “not going gently.”

Learn the steps you can do to prevent and or deal with cancer and  Alzheimer’s, and what tools the family needs in dealing with a loved one who has it.

Constance and her husband Ed live in Menlo Park, CA. They have a blended family of a son, four daughters, and twelve grandchildren. The Vincents have always travelled extensively, but now their travels are mainly to visit their widespread family! They enjoy their book clubs, operas, symphonies, and movies.

Positive Vibrations Roundtable presents  Temple Hayes and Tony Edgell hosted by Sara Troy aired June 3o/15

imagesWe have all had the redirection to face at some point in our lives, some easy some most indefinably hard, but in the end, those redirects guide us towards a beautiful life of meaningful and purpose and love, should we choose to embrace it.  Here at this roundtable, we speak to the embracement of a meaningful life.

When did you die? By Temple Hayes

temple-author-about-imageWhen someone told you that you weren’t good enough? When you buried who you really are for fear that others would disapprove? Or when you gave up your creative dreams to take a “practical” job? Are you in a relationship which does not ‘relate’ to you?

You may not have realized you were dying, but you have been dying a little more each day. And that’s the miracle of Temple Hayes’ remarkable new book When Did You Die? 8 Steps to Stop Dying Every Day and Start Waking Up (HCI Books). It empowers you to wake up and take back your life!

Hayes is today one of the most respected and authentically inspiring leaders in spiritual enrichment and a sought-after speaker. A Unity minister in St. Petersburg Fl., with a global following, and an extremely popular radio show, Hayes knows firsthand what it is to die to your true self and your dreams.

The Hero inside of you by Tony Edgell

1979969_281743855327922_1662783782_oTony Edgell found out the hard way that there is nothing more unmotivating than working just for a paycheck and believing money and materialism will bring happiness, or selling our soul for what we have been taught will make us happy.

Tony says that “I left a comfy and secure corporate America job to pursue my life purpose of inspiring and empowering people to find their purpose and to live their dreams. I found my calling, and I’m dedicated to helping others uncover the life they, too, are called to live. In the past, I had serious anger problems. I used to get into bar room fights, and during my high school days, I was a bully, although you would never know it if you met me now.”

I’m not proud of my past, but I’m proud of how much I have evolved as a human being. I am extremely grateful that I took the Hero’s journey and evolved as a compassionate human being with a huge tender heart who loves to inspire those around me. I now live a joyful life full of peace and passion in Pennsylvania with my beautiful wife Gail and my daughter Annie, the dog

BE OUR GUEST AND SHARE THE WISDOM

TSM 15/27 Supporting Women Reshaping the World.

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guests Joscelyn Duffy and Barry Braun aired July 7th

10898154_802542389820723_4519459817002473619_n

When he became a grandfather in 2013, Barry Braun began reflecting on what the world would be like for his new granddaughter when she reached the prime of her life. What he saw angered him and he was determined to do something about it. He founded Women Reshaping the World as a legacy project for all children.

2013 summer 3As he reflected on why their future well-being and happiness was being threatened, he concluded that it was a simple matter of collective decision making. Like many others, Barry realised that we need a different kind of decision-making to put us on a different course. In the past, we have acted in the moment and deal with consequences only later, which has brought us to a point of threatening our well-being and the survival of our children. He believes that we need is decision making that is holistic, collaborative, long-term and connected to a deep sense of purpose — or a more feminine style of leadership. That is why Barry is spearheading one of many initiatives to help women (and the men who collaborate with them) shift our world for the better.

His thought is this: If 2 million women join together as a community to use their individual voices to shape the kind of decisions we collectively make, there will be enough power to shift the norm on decision making. This could contribute to changing the course of our world. And so, Women Reshaping the World is aiming to do just that, with a community of 2 million women, brought together through conferences across North America, an online membership platform, mentorship programs and powerful workshops. The vision is simple: Provide women with the tools to foster confidence in their sense of purpose and their voice, and support putting that purpose into action.

Who is Barry Braun?

bb_200x200 (2)Barry is a visionary. He sees a world of possibility when we take the destiny into our collective hands.  As a long-term student of human behaviour, Barry believes that with a deep sense of awareness, we can move beyond simply surviving. As an expert, he has developed powerful techniques to bring people the awareness of their deep purpose and how they can impact the world around them.

Barry is a pragmatist who questions how we can build the world we would all want for our children and grandchildren, where they enjoy the happiness and well-being that comes from sufficiency, security, belonging, purpose and fairness.

As a grandfather, Barry sees the world through the eyes of children and how their innocence and joy is replaced by either numbness or fear as they move into adulthood and then a questing for purpose as they move into mature adults. His vision is to help us maintain that youthful spirit as we each unfold and share our unique purpose. It is this vision that lays the foundation for the resources, teachings and community of Women Reshaping The World.

Who Is Joscelyn Duffy?

10682411_10154552543355247_3391701956270737056_oJoscelyn is a writer, ghostwriter and motivational speaker, whose purpose has been shaped by a natural ability to identify and communicate simplicity from within the complex. Her career began as a financial educator with Fortune 500 companies, where she crafted national newsletters and led countless training sessions, guiding others to find calm during chaos. When abrupt physical debilitation and a life-threatening case of lupus struck Joscelyn at the tender age of twenty-six, she was swept away from the career and life she knew and offered the greatest contemplation time of her life. While healing and growing through illness, she discovered the truths of a reshaped life path and the ultimate purpose of her being. Her passions always laid within writing, speaking and helping others; there simply had been a voice telling her that it was meant to be for more than financial education. That little voice was right, and facing adversity first-hand provided Joscelyn with the opportunity to test every belief she had about how we each can find calm, clarity and confidence, even in the heart of chaos. What she lived is what she shares with others today. Acting as a mirror, she helps others reveal their authentic voice, strength and wisdom, and fearlessly express it to the world. Her ghostwriting clients include some of the world’s top motivational speakers, a former Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and an international men’s health figure. And her gentle demeanour, practical guidance and powerful perspectives leave clients and audiences feeling more assured and hopeful as they journey through life.

To find out more about Joscelyn’s personal healing journey and her discovery of personal purpose, you can pick up her first book, Unshakable To The Core, at Amazon.com.

Why Barry approached Joscelyn to be the voice and face of WRTW:

“A woman reshaping the world is a woman who is committed to knowing the real purpose and committed to putting that purpose into action in every increasing way. A woman reshaping the world is a woman of courage who in spite of fear, speaks up and does the right thing anyway. That is why I chose Joscelyn. She is and has courage, purpose and takes action in ways that inspire change.”
