17-51 I Wish You A Merry Christmas & Joyous Love

Join Sara Troy on Sara’s View of Life, on air from December 19th

Tis the time to be jolly, but also the time to come together.

So much is put into Christmas, the gift buying. the parties, the feasts, but please do not forget the Love and the gratitude for each other. With so much hype, we are inclined to forget the lonely but also just how lonely Christmas can be for anyone.

We can be lonely in a crowd, we can feel left out at the gift giving, we can feel embarrassed that we are unable to give gifts. We are not all on the same budget, and the pressure of buying a gift can be very daunting. So if someone gives you just a card, or something homemade or even just a friendly Christmas cheer, please acknowledge the gift in that.

If you are alone this season, find somewhere open and go, Star Bucks are open Christmas day as are many other places, even if only just going for a cup of coffee, go and spread the cheers, for everyone there needs it and together you can lift each other up.

Remember the faith you celebrate is about love, about being there for one another, about caring and the giving of one’s self, the greatest gift you can give is that of your self. If you invited anywhere, offer to help, do the dishes, payback on kind gestures of gratitude. Bring your good cheers, respect, gratitude and joy, and share that with everyone.

Do not let this joyous season be one of hate, disconnect, or fear or loneliness, but one of loving caring kindness and a celebration of life, the birth of life a time for LOVE.

17-50 Consumerism is not Festive, Love is.

Join Sara Troy on Sara’s View of Life, on air from December 12th

Is Christmas all about gifts — who can buy bigger, better, and more than last year?
Or is it about love, kindness, and the togetherness of our families and communities?
I believe it’s the latter.

We get so consumed by the consumerism of it all that we forget the generosity of kindness and love. Sharing a table filled with good food and wonderful company — whether family or strangers who become friends — is deeply fulfilling and reminds us what this season truly celebrates.

Don’t get me wrong, I love giving gifts too. But I am no longer a slave to gift-buying. The greatest gift I can offer is my heart — through a letter, a card, a call, a video chat… simply reaching out and connecting. That human warmth lasts far longer than anything wrapped in paper.

We have children today who expect everything they ask for — and tantrum when they don’t get it. What are we teaching them? That happiness comes from things? The real gift is attention, love, and guiding them to live from the inside out — to care for others and to know the joy of giving.

Young or old, rich or poor, in the end it is love — loving ourselves, and being loved by others — that truly enriches life. That is the greatest gift of all.

So this season, share your love. Share your time. Share your attention.
Put down the phones. Talk to one another. Reach out to those who are alone and bring them in. Let no one feel forgotten or left out in the cold.

Because we all want to belong.
We all want to know someone cares.
And that — more than anything — is the true spirit of Christmas.

SARA SPEAKS FESTIVE LOVE AND TOGETHERNESS THIS SEASON.
