16/25 ONENESS

Sara Troy presents Sara’s View of Life airing June 21st-27th

all-life-is-yoga-3-638

A word that causes so much confusion, what is oneness and what does it mean for us?

Oneness is NOT a giving up of your person, not a becoming a borg (Star Trek), or mindless, speechless, a droid or abstaining from responsibility; it is about being abundant within your self, being vibrant and full of life, being purposeful and living a meaningful life, and then sharing life that with everyone else.

We may call it wholeness, unity, togetherness, community, all for one one for all, no matter what you may call it, coming together as spirit and human we unit our divine energy as ONE.

When we seek oneness we are looking for those who resonate on the same frequency or higher, the same positive energy as our selves. Like-minded, like hearted, like souled and spirited people who like us want to help the world by aiding and supporting each other.

Coming together is about kindness, respect, self-value, value of life and an embracement of love. Love, that magical word, a word that is ooverusedand not used enough, not spoken in understanding but needing to be spoken in truth, love; just a word, but it is in the action of love that we need, the giving, sharing, doing of love, not just for some but for and from everyone.

When we fall in love every thing about us heightens, we can and do lose our reasoning, we feel tingly, we are in a zone of pure joy, but sustaining that kind of ethoric love is unattainable and if lucky it settles down to a glowing love that if honest and  will grow over time deeper and broader for ever.

Love starts with us first; we must have that love of self before we can love anyone else or be loved by anyone else truly. Self respect, self value, self care, is the foundation of self love. We will never find that undying love if we do not first have it within our selves from our very core.

Love and oneness is uniting, an energy that serves each other and our community. In unison of self love, respect and value for each other, we become a force that is so resonating that it units and invites others into that pure energy of Oneness. The divine energy that flows in around and through you, is one of such harmony and meaning that it grows in the joy of that wonderful collaboration of said oneness.

oneness

So find that love of self by taking your journey into self discovery, embrace the love you have for you, exude that love out, radiate it, share it, and water the seeds of life with it so it may help all life grow. We are all a part of this world, we are all connected, each colour, race, gender ,faith, we are one, it is time we came together in that unity filled with love of self, of life and our meaningful purpose and be the contributors to this planet and all living things in it, it is time for ONENESS.

TSM16/14 VASS: DISABLED to ABLE on the Mountain with Anne Bethune

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Anne Bethune aired April 5th/16

VASScup-mar-13-2014-DRM-0636-email-1000x400

Anne Bethune has been living in Vancouver, BC, since she moved from Ontario in 1986 after graduating from Queen’s University in Occupational Therapy.  She arrived in BC with a budding career path as an Occupational Therapist (OT) and a passion/expertise for adaptive recreation.   As a young girl, Anne took on leadership roles as a camp counsellor, ski instructor, sailing instructor and leader in her school student council and athletics, including class valedictorian.

28 years ago, Anne brought with her to BC her extensive experience teaching sailing to people with disabilities in Ontario and the Caribbean, and she quickly stepped into her leadership in Vancouver, matched energy with Sam Sullivan, to hatch what is now the Disabled Sailing Association of BC at Jericho Sailing Center.  At this time, Anne worked at Shaughnessy Hospital as an OT with survivors of traumatic spinal cord injury while teaching skiing at our Cypress, Grouse and Whistler Mountains.  Anne combined her passion for the adaptive sport and her love of ski teaching and began her years of volunteering as an instructor for Disabled Skier Association of BC at Grouse Mountain – the roots of what we now know as Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports.

Her career shifted to working in community-based practice as an Occupational Therapist with survivors of traumatic brain injuries and complex orthopaedic injuries for 12 years followed by work with North Shore Health – Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

Anne’s leadership and influence within the adaptive skiing world ignited quickly and she has become known as a leader not only within our local community but with our national organization CADS (Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers) as a CADS Examiner and globally with her involvements with the International Paralympic Committee as an IPC Alpine Skiing Classifier.  She has been involved on many committees locally and globally in the adaptive sports world.

In addition to Anne’s volunteer work, Anne has a successful home-based global business in the health and wellness industry with Isagenix International and has impacted the lives of thousands of people with her expertise/passion for people and health.  She has solutions for Weight Loss, Energy, Performance, Healthy Ageing and Wealth Creation.

In addition to her volunteer and work activities, Anne has the proud mother of three thriving teen boys and has nurtured their passions for music, sport and outdoor recreation.  Her youngest has been a singer in the BC Boys Touring Choir and passionate about outdoors/ leadership as youth camp leader, her middle son is focused on an elite level hockey path and her oldest son is a gifted singer/songwriter/guitar player.

The name Bethune may sound familiar – indeed, Anne’s  descendant was Dr. Norman Bethune, the famous Canadian physician and international humanitarian – proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Anne is here to talk with us today about her work with adaptive sport and healthy living and how her passions truly do impact lives for the better
