IG21-50 Kathleen Woodington on How Getting Sick Saved My Life.

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Kathleen Woodington, on air from December 14th.

How Getting Sick Saved My Life: I help heart centered entrepreneurs and lightworkers feeling, disconnected from themselves and feeling their emotions ( it is typically related to unresolved trauma),  self doubt, overwhelm, and lack of focus, center and ground their energy in their body temple to create more balance and flow in their life and business.  Your inner world creates your  outer world.

It was in losing everything ( mental and physical health, career, finanaces, relationships etc), that I found myself, learned to feel my emotions, love myself and love life.  I almost died trying to figure out how to live.  It’s a miracle that I am alive.  I am here to share my message of hope and inspiration and to end suffering on this planet.  Life is a skillset.  We are here to learn to live skillfully and in alignment with our mind, body and soul. Let your lifestyle be your medicine.

I give hope to the hopeless.  Our most important relationship is with ourself.  Know thyself. Love thyself.  I was addicted to adrenal and being busy and not listening to my body. After realizing it’s about feeling good I got addicted to feeling good and honouring myself. This realization opened the door to my healing and transformation. My mission is to get others addicted to feeling good, fully alive and thriving.

My background is health sciences. I have always helped people. I was a Nuclear Medicine Techonologist and then and Occupational Therapist. 11 years years ago I was told I would return to my career as an Occupational Therapist following the removal of my thyroid gland.  I attempted 3 return to works and they all failed. My identity was wiped out. Gone. I felt like a nothing.

What unravelled was layers of chronic illness.  I was bed ridden for up to ½  a month in bed for years.  It was a complete mess.  My mess is now my message.  You have to feel to heal.

Running from emotions creates imbalances in the system which eventually lead to disease.  I lived from a place of deep trauma my whole life.  I have lived the last 11  years in my ‘urban ashram like a crosss between a navy seal and a yogi (Ha!)  ‘unlearning everything I knew, reprogramming my nervous system for peace and calm and creating my new identity as a Spiritual Coach and Yoga Teacher.

TS21-49 Rev. Rick Cole. Incarnate: Jesus Among the Broken

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Rev Rick Cole, on air from December 14th
“On the streets, I found that I wasn’t just wrong in various ways about broken people, I was wrong in layers.” In 2014, the leader of a Northern California megachurch lived on the streets of Sacramento for two weeks to raise money for a homeless program. It changed his life forever. Now, in the tail-spinning latter half of a global pandemic, Rev. Rick Cole of Capital Christian Center recounts the humbling experience and opens up about his own growth and his hopes for the Church. Touching on everything from homelessness, to race relations, to embracing a broken community, Cole is always self-aware, straightforward, and unambiguous. He may at times be stating the obvious, but he also knows that too many of us, especially now, need to hear it.

Rick Cole has been an active ally for social justice, taking a hands-on approach to issues of racial reconciliation and homelessness in his community as well as serving countries all around the world by leading teams through global mission work. Cole pastors a congregation of over 3,000 members and leads a staff of 14 pastors in addition to 180 church and school employees. He is the co-author of two other books, Souldesign: A Roadmap for Personal Growth and Souldesign: Living A Life of Love. Rev. Rick Cole lives in California with his wife Cathy. 21-49 The Giving Gift

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from December 7th

Are you in flux this year on what to give for Christmas? Are there shortages of products where you are? or do you simply have no idea what to give everyone? Here are some suggestions and ideas from me of what you can give this year, but mostly how you can step into caringness, kindness lovingness to you and all your care for.

Here in BC, Canada, we’ve witnessed the harsh reality of an overwhelmed landscape: whole towns threatened by rising waters, farms destroyed, livestock lost, vital roads and railways washed out — the very infrastructure we rely on for survival gone in the blink of an eye. The Weather Network+2Emergency Info BC+2

When the scale of suffering feels too big and it seems like there’s nothing we can do, it’s easy to feel helpless. But there is something we can do. We can stand with those in crisis — we can support organizations working on the ground. We can make donations in the names of our loved ones, turning our gift-giving into a powerful act of hope and solidarity.

By giving in this way, we help rebuild communities. We help provide shelter, food, care — and most importantly, love — to people who are feeling lost, frightened, lonely, or abandoned.

This Christmas — let your gifts not just be things wrapped in paper, but gifts of hope and compassion. Together, we can make a difference.

What is gifting it forward? It is gifting a donation to an organization in someone’s name and giving them that gift for Christmas, it becomes a gift of giving that keeps on giving. BOOKS IDEAS HERE and HERE

C21-49 Heather Dugan, Surviving the Holidays when you are Alone.

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Heather Dugan, on air from December 7th
~Tips and advice from relationship expert and award-winning author Heather Dugan on how to keep loneliness at bay~

Heather says that loneliness is a personal concept. While some people don’t need a lot of social interaction to be happy and healthy, others may have contact with friends and family members all the time and still feel alone. “Loneliness happens when you feel socially isolated, and it can have a powerful impact on your mental health. You need to plan for low moments and make the most of situations that are beyond your control,”

The holiday season should be a time of joy and love, but it can also be a time of loneliness for many people. As we gradually crawl out of the pandemic, the uncertainty around traveling and vaccine hesitancy among Americans may force people who live far from family to stay home and miss seeing their loved ones. “For those who feel a sense of loneliness, holidays can be a time of major additional stress,”

Dugan. “You can still make memories for yourself by being creative and flexible. Build new “traditions” and find ways to embrace rather than avoid the alone time.”

Some useful suggestions from Heather to add some cheer to solo holidays:

  1. Refrain from comparing yourself to others and assuming they are doing great
  2. Focus on the brighter and positives of the situation
  3. Volunteer and offer your service to someone in need
