Earl grew up an Air Force BRAT. His father was a Vietnam-era F-4 Phantom pilot who later returned as a missionary. The middle of 5 kids, Earl spent much of his early life in Southeast Asia. After having sold his company, Good Done Great to Your Cause.   He has continued his journey of trying to help make the world more empathetic and caring now using a combination of media as well as technology.

He’s rebranded myself as a Philanthropologist, and a filmmaker working a travel television show on the messy business of global charity. The Good Road features a winning formula of travel and philanthropy and a dash of the unexpected which is exactly what public television needs today.

On the television show, he travel the world with my long-time childhood friend, Craig Martin.  They take the viewers to interesting places, and introduce them to interesting people who are making a difference in the frontlines of global philanthropy.

The show will be distributed on Public Television in the USA through WETA in Washington, DC and will have national viewership here in the United States.  Our presenting station, WETA is projecting 10 million viewers for Season I

They also have a podcast called, Philanthropology:

The study of those individuals who sacrifice themselves for their fellow man

BB 19-01 Visions, Decisions, Goals, and Trolls with DeAnne Pearson

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest DeAnne Pearson, on air from January 1st 2019

Purpose and Careers and Selling with Heart and Integrity

I had it all, confidence, talent, intelligence, I could talk to anyone, loved to listen to people tell their stories and encourage them right where they were in their lives, and I even had an awesome signature that I practiced endlessly, DeAnne….DeAnne… with a capital “A” in the middle for emphasis. I was ready to sign my Mona Lisa or autograph my famous play…

I was 5 years old.

It breaks my heart when people think of themselves as ordinary – just another accountant, engineer, CPA, or graphic artist.

Because it leads them to approach their careers in an ordinary way.

But you are extraordinary. You have a purpose

C19-01 TO SEE BEYOND SIGHT! with  Kathleen Tonnesen

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest  Kathleen Tonnesen, on air January 1st 2019.

To see beyond sight.
I was born legally blind in my left eye. I was born with an eye disease in my right eye named Fuchs heterochromic iridocyclitis which is a disease of the iris leading to blindness over time. I am sharing my story of courage via art creativity at the encouragement of my business coach Cresswell Walker, to whom I am very grateful for guiding me through my turbulent emotional waters 2018. This, due to the 3rd eye issue that placed all my goals and plans for business on pause for the last 6 months, while I worked to recalibrate my brain to adjust to my new way of being. Thanks Cresswell. I will be interviewed by Sara Troy, Self Discovery Radio, in December, in the hope that my story may inspire and be of service to others who face challenges on their own journey. Stay tuned!

It is estimated that Indigenous territories contain 80 percent of the earth’s biodiversity. Indigenous lands also hold unquantified megatons of sequestered carbon as 11% of the planet’s forests are under their guardianship. These regions face an unprecedented and rapid loss of biodiversity and climate change effects resulting from the fossil fuel-based industrialized global economy and natural resource extraction. Many traditional Indigenous lands have become biodiversity “hotspots.” For Indigenous Peoples, conservation of biodiversity is an integral part of their lives and is viewed as spiritual and functional foundations for their identities and cultures. It is no coincidence that when the World Wildlife Fund listed the top 200 areas with the highest and most threatened biodiversity, they found that 95 percent are on Indigenous territories.

Indigenous Peoples and the environments they maintain are increasingly under assault from extractive industries such as mining, oil exploration, logging, and agro-industrial projects.

Indigenous Peoples resist this invasion with tremendous courage and skill, but their protests are too often ignored by governments and corporations.

Environmental activist and geographer Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim is one of 14 National Geographic Emerging Explorers for 2017. This group is being honored for the way its members explore new frontiers and find innovative ways to remedy some of the greatest challenges facing our planet. The 2017 class of Emerging Explorers will be honored at the National Geographic Explorers Festival in Washington, D.C. in June.

In rural parts of Chad, a nuisance plant has begun to spring up—one that strangles crops and can’t be eaten by the cows. People call it “the bad herb,” says Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim. It’s one of many changes her people, the nomadic Mbororo, are noticing: declines in milk from the cows, new illnesses, shifting seasons.

Ibrahim is working to collect indigenous knowledge about natural resources in Chad as part of a 3-D mapping project, while also representing her community in climate discussions at the United Nations. She describes a childhood that straddled two worlds: school in the capital city of N’Djamena and tending cows among family in the Mbororo. Now she bridges the gap between the indigenous people who intimately know their land and the governments making decisions many miles away.
