24-18. Senior Energy

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air form April 29th

As I watched my Grandson’s play with other children from one of my Grandsons 1st birthday, I realized that it was wonderful to witness, but also wearisome. It’s truly delightful to see the innocence and joy in children as they interact with each other, forming friendships and creating memories. However, as a grandparent, keeping up with their boundless energy and constant activity can also be tiring. Balancing the joy of the moment with the exhaustion it brings is a part of the beautiful journey of parenthood and grandparenthood. Nonetheless, these experiences are cherished for a lifetime, creating a tapestry of precious moments that contribute to the richness of family life.

It is important to recognize that taking breaks and allowing ourselves time to recharge is not only acceptable but also essential for maintaining our well-being. As we mature, our energy levels may not be as boundless as they were in earlier years, particularly when our children were young. This means that we may tire more easily and be more susceptible to feeling drained by raucous or energetic environments, such as those filled with lively, rambunctious noise. Recognizing our personal limitations and taking the necessary steps to address them is a vital part of self-care and ensuring that we are better equipped to engage with the world around us. Whether it means taking a breather or returning home to regroup, it’s important to prioritize our own needs in order to effectively navigate the demands of our environment.

Do not feel shame or apologies for that is not necessary, feel no guilt, for we all if lucky enough to get to a mature age, will feel the same at some point. It’s important to recognize that experiencing these emotions is a natural part of the human experience. Instead of feeling shame or guilt, it’s essential to practice self-compassion and understanding. By acknowledging and accepting our emotions, we can work towards healing and growth. Everyone faces challenges and moments of vulnerability, and it’s okay to seek support and understanding during these times. Remember, you are not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to be gentle with yourself as you navigate through these emotions. Embracing our vulnerabilities can lead to greater empathy and connection with others, ultimately enriching our human experience. Allow yourself the space to feel and grow from these moments, as they are an integral part of our journey through life.

So enjoy the party what ever it is, but know when to take a break, or leave and do not feel guilting about it, if people do not understand, that is on them.
